Welcome to Hartland Tae
Kwon Do's Official Website!
We hope this website will be a
great way for you to learn more about our martial arts school.
Many people ask, "What is Tae
Kwon Do?" Literally translated, Tae Kwon Do means "to strike
with the 'foot', to strike with the 'fist' and the 'way'."
Put together, it is translated as "the way of the fist and
foot." Although it is all of these concepts, it can be seen as
so much more.
Tae Kwon Do offers many
benefits that any person can use in his or her daily life. For
children, it can be seen as something that stresses discipline
and focus, but it also is extremely fun and rewarding. Many
parents get excited for their child to join a martial art
because it is an excellent reinforcement to what they are
trying to teach their child at home: When you work hard, you
can accomplish anything.
Self defense is something we
should all have some type of knowledge in. For pre-teens and
young adults, who are constantly presented with a new social
situation, it is imperative that they know how to defend
themselves if the need arises. Not only will the martial arts
practitioner know how to defend themselves if they have to,
but they will possess the discipline and confidence that will
ultimately aid them in how to appropriately handle a
situation.
For adults, it is a new and
exciting way to keep in shape. The elliptical and treadmill
can grow extremely repetitive after a few weeks of exercise. At
Hartland Tae Kwon Do, the student can train up to three times
a week, and be excited about what they are doing for their
body and mind. New students are able to reap the benefits from
close instruction of the white belt class, and people
interested in competition are able to develop a competitive
edge in our high-intensity tournament team. With the class
changing daily, adults find that they are constantly
doing something different for their physical body, and they
are mentally challenged with new exercises and skills that are
set before them.
Hartland
Tae Kwon Do has grown dramatically. The pattern is common: a
parent puts his or her child in the program, and then a few
months later, they join. Tae Kwon Do is for all ages, and as a
result, it is a great way for families to spend quality time
together.
